From east to west there are many beaches to mention in Christchurch New Zealand. The most eastern beach is that of Highcliffe with ideal waves for those of you who enjoy bodyboarding or swimming. Inside of Highcliffe you´ll also see the beach of the castle that is surrounded by beautiful vegetation. Truely nature at it´s best. There are also bars and restaurants next to the castle.

On the other hand you must also visit the beach of Friars Cliff, a golden sand beach perfect for families. You can also charter a yacht or boat there and sail out into the open sea. It is an area well equipped with plenty of services.

Last but not least in the corner west of Christchurch, New Zealand you´ll find Avon beach located in Mudeford. It is a very popular beach and has golden sands and many possibilities of activities to participate in. This beach is reserved for aquatic sports. There is another beach in Mudeford Sandbank, that as the name indicates has a white sandback to which you can arrive by bike or train and has ferry stations nearby.
